Bridge Structures

For more than 50 years SNA has designed and supervised the construction of several hundred bridges and has gained experience and expertise in the design of all types of bridges.

State-of-the-art design techniques and up-to-date-computer programs for both design and drafting enable SNA to offer professional design services in:

• Reinforced concrete design
• Prestressed concrete design in pretensioned precast concrete and post-tensioned cast in-situ concrete
• Composite bridge design in steel, precast and reinforced concrete
• Structural steel bridges
• Design of other road related structures, e.g. culverts, sign gantries and canals.
• In addition to designing new bridges, SNA has extensive experience in:
• Bridge Management Systems
• Bridge inspections
• Bridge rehabilitations and repairs
• Bridge widening and upgrading
• Bridge load assessment and testing.

Over 100 bridges have been rehabilitated on the Witbank to Maputo Toll Road as part of the Maputo Development Corridor for which SNA was the Consulting Engineering company.
